Overview

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the healthcare industry, driving innovation, and transforming the way medical professionals diagnose, treat, and care for patients. By leveraging advanced algorithms, machine learning, and analytics, AI enables faster and more accurate diagnostics, personalized treatment plans, and predictive insights into patient outcomes enhancing medical doctors’ and healthcare personnel’s services. As AI continues to integrate into medical practice, it holds the promise of addressing some of the most pressing challenges in healthcare, from resource constraints to complex decision-making. At the same time, it is essential to address its limitations, associated threats and malpractices to ensure the ethical and safe use of AI in healthcare sector. For medical doctors and healthcare experts, embracing AI doesn’t require prior technical expertise. By understanding its capabilities, potentials, and integrating possibilities AI into practice, healthcare providers can significantly improve the performance and the quality of care they deliver. Further, the medical researchers may extend their potential of widening the research activities including AI technologies to find new horizons that signify their visibility in global research forums.

Session Objective:
To foster collaboration between healthcare professionals and researchers by enhancing their knowledge of AI and its potential, promoting the safe and ethical integration of AI into medical practices, towards the advancement of the Sri Lankan healthcare system benefiting the citizens.
